2005 Chicago Jazz Festival produced by the City of Chicago, Mayor's Office of Special Events, programmed by the Jazz Institute of Chicago This year's festival will feature a special Down Beat 70th Anniversary Concert at the Symphony Center with John Medeski (solo piano), Louis Hayes and the Cannonball Adderley Tribute Band and The Zawinul Syndicate with Joe Zawinul, a Roy Haynes 80th Birthday Celebration, a tribute to Tony Williams featuring Jack DeJohnette, John Scofield and Larry Goldings and a Charlie Parker 85th Birthday Event, featuring the Charles McPherson Quartet, plus special guests Frank Morgan and Donald Harrison, plus many, many more incredible musicians. http://www.jazzinstituteofchicago.org http://egov.cityofchicago.org/ |
